Influencé par les sons du milieu underground des grandes villes occidentales comme New York, Paris, Londres, ou encore Berlin, Romain Papion alias Cambia tire son inspiration de la vie qui l’entoure. Sa propre vie d’abord puis celle des gens qu’il côtoie. Ne connaissant pas de frontière culturelle qui ne puisse être franchie et considérant que chaque personne qu’il croise peut lui apporter quelque chose en terme d’apprentissage de cette vie, d’expériences partagées, les textes produits par Cambia sont le reflet de son expérience enrichie de celle des autres. Ayant évolué en milieu urbain, c’est donc tout naturellement qu’il s’est tourné vers le Hip hop à l’âge 15 ans. Il a participé à la création et la formation du groupe Hocus Pocus et du collectif C2C sur Nantes. L’évolution du numérique l’a très vite conduit vers l’informatique comme outil pour la création musicale. Conscient que l’art ne se limite pas à un seul type de médium tel que le son, l’image, la vidéo font également partie de ses centres d’intérêt en tant que moyen de véhiculer un message, une expression sans condition.
Influenced by the underground sounds of major western cities like New York, Paris, London and Berlin, Romain Papion, aka Cambia, draws his inspiration from the life around him, starting with his own life and then of the people he meets. With a firm belief that no cultural barrier is too strong to cross and considering that every person he meets has something to teach him about life and shared experiences, the texts produced by Cambia are the reflection of his experience, enriched by that of others. Having grown up in an urban environment, it was only natural that he should be attracted to hip hop at the age of 15. He participated in the creation and training of the Hocus Pocus group and the C2C collective in Nantes. The evolution of digital technology very quickly led him to the computer as a tool for musical creation. Aware that art is not limited to a single medium like sound, images and video are also among his centres of interest as a means of conveying a message and unconditional expression.
