    SUMMARY OF DESIGN TALKS BY DAY

     

     

    WEDNESDAY, 13th JUNE

    Morning – Chapitalk Room

    From 9:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. , a morning of talks to open the festival.

     

    From 9:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. we begin with talks about reality and identity. Why are these themes correlated with design? Thomas Buvignier will explain the importance of design in encouraging micro-interactions with consumers. For those who love UX and UI, or who would like to undestand what these terms mean…go to the talk « There’s no magic, everything is in the detail« .

    From 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 p.m., it’s the turn of Tony Aubé’s presentation on artificial intelligence and augmented reality. #RéalitésMixtes #ProjetsAR

    From 11:10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., Maaike Dufour will be discussing the importance of quality interfaces in applications which make use of the user’s voice.

    From 11:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Steph Throet will talk about the theory of « jobs to be done » (« JBTD »). Jobs To Be Done « offers a means of breaking down the complex reasons for which a person might « pick » a product for completing a « job » and methods of identifying strategic opportunities ».

     

    Afternoon – Maxi Room

    From 5:20 p.m. to 5:40 p.m., Ghada Whali will show us ways of learning foreign languages through play. This talk will be about learning Arabic with… Lego!

     

     

     

    THURSDAY, 14th JUNE

    Afternoon – Micro Room

    From 3:40 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. our festival goers will be submerged in an avalanche of things to discover about design.

    4:20 – 5:00 p.m. – « Designing for augmented reality » with Michael Flarup Jensen

    5:00 – 5:40 p.m. – « WTF is VR » with Sami Guillermet

    5:40 – 6:20 p.m. – « Quality Mentality » with Silviya Ivanova Krasteva

    6:20 – 7:00 p.m. – « Design looking for empathetic AI » with Patrick Maruejouls

     

     

     

    FRIDAY, 15th JUNE

    There will be a jumble of talks throughout Friday.

    In the middle of the day there will be workshop for which registration is required… Let us tell you more:

     

    Morning – Maxi Room

    Alex Glass, Max Leroy, Zack Prager and Carolyn Manning will hold two conferences, one after the other. In the first we’ll be discussing whether 2018 is a good or bad year for « tech ». The second will be debating the organisations which are changing our social behaviours. So we’ll be talking about, for example, Netflix, which created « binge watching » , or Facebook and its influence on electors. Come and learn more and get inspired!

    9:40 – 10:35 a.m. – « Is 2018 the best or the worst year? What is positive technology? »

    10:35 – 11:30 a.m. – « Is tech ruining our lives? »

     

    Morning – Trempolino Room

    From 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., come and take part in our Design workshop! The idea? Interact with experts to find solutions. There will be three themes for you, Design Lovers:

    Team synergy during the UNDERSTAND (empathise, define) stage

    Team synergy during the EXPLORE (ideation/explore, prototype, test) stage

    Team synergy during the DEVELOPMENT (implementation, development) stage

    To close the festival, Ludovic Riffault will make the invisible visible from 2:00 to 2:40 p.m. He will talk to us about how data can reveal unexpected information such as noise, pollution footprint… And how to exploit it!

    From 2:40 to 3:20 p.m. Nicolas Vérité will describe the evolution of instant messaging through its technological revolutions during his talk « Open Source : Failure to assist UX in danger » #opensource #usertesting
